"Because It's Christmas" peaked at #40 on the Billboard 200 and became the best-selling Christmas album of 1990 in the United States, spending five weeks at #1 on Billboard's Christmas Albums sales chart in December 1990 & January 1991.

It was certified platinum by the RIAA on July 19, 2002 for shipments of one million copies in the United States, making it Manilow's first platinum album since his 1984 album, "2:00 AM Paradise Cafe."
