Critical Reception

Tim Griggs from AllMusic wrote: "Shanice sure has an impressive voice, including the ability to sing falsetto a la Mariah Carey and Minnie Riperton. In fact, Shanice performs a version of Riperton's "Lovin You," which is somewhat faithful to the original. Fortunately, even though Shanice was just a teenager when she recorded this album, she doesn't overindulge in the falsetto like Carey did on her early releases. Unfortunately, she does overindulge in rapping, which is not her particular strength."
