Critical ReceptionEdit

Entertainment Weekly gave the album a "C"-plus, writing: "His voice is well-bred but bland, there’s an over-reliance on samples (”Dust in the Wind”?!) and remakes (including a dull, supper-club-slow-jam version of Prince’s ”I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man”), and the buttery production smothers any trace of soul."

Allmusic gave the album a four-star rating, writing: "Knight doesn't abandon the smooth urban soul stylings that made his reputation, but he updates it, borrowing from a number of contemporary sources to create a stylized, fresh sound. Even with the extra effort, the urban soul ballads sometimes blend together, but he shines on the uptempo numbers, such as the inspired weirdness of "Give It to You," which blends accordions, waltz breaks, and slammin' grooves in an irresistible fashion."
